Good morning America, it's Friday! Game Day!! Friday is my Favorite Day!!! Good Luck to everyone on their games this weekend. GO RANGERS! KSA!!!
EQ Quote of the Day: 10.03.08

Even when you’ve played the game of your life,
It’s the feeling of Teamwork that you’ll remember.
John C. Maxwell

Question of the Day?
Three questions:
1. Without looking, what was the score of the 6th game of your Junior year?
2. From front to back; list the names of those people in your Senior English Class;
3. Who played next to you on the line, in the backfield, on your team?
TEAMWORK WINS!

This month, belikeve it or not, I will go back to Gibsonburg OH for our 45th reunion. Where has the time gone. I cannot tell you, even though we had only 72 in our class, who sat front to back in that English class; nor can I tell you what the score of that game was (I can tell you that we won it as we went 9-1 losing the opener).

But I can tell you that Carl Fisher and Dan Henry played guards while I played center on offense. I snapped the ball to the best man at our wedding (as you can see, 10.2 it's been 42 years), Mark Newcomer; Wade Smith, rest his soul, played fullback, Billy Bell played HB, Lupe was the WB, Walt played end, Kim played tackle along with Paul, Dickie the other end.

My brother found some old 16 mm film of us playing our JR and SR years, got it digitized and made a DVD out of it and gave it to me for Christmas last year. You can bet I will be taking it back with me to the reunion. I have a clip of that film up online. You can view it - see the old coach in action: www.maxcast.com/freebchronicles.

The clip is from a promo we use for our online video exchange program, hence the naration: www.maxcast.com/videoexchange.

We will not be able to lie about how "great" we were - I'll have proof!

While you are there, take a look at Keeghan playing his first takle football season for the Dominators. FreebChronicles is a family channel where we can upload video and share it with people everywhere. With grandchildren in 4 states, Grandma can, however, upload a bedtime story and Jack can watch it in IL, Yani in WA, Kaija in ID and Kade in OR - on demand.

We have bunches of people who are reading this blog - no one making any comments. Feel free to share you thoughts.

Be 11!

many of you will remember Martin from B.C. He would not post a comment but sent me an article on how they are doing this year. Last year they won it all. Looks like things are good this year as well:

Ravens O and D lines flex muscle in 49-14 win over Hyacks
Terry Fox 49 at New Westminster 14
NEW WESTMINSTER -- The Terry Fox Ravens (4-0, 2-0) are just plain tough, and although it’s easiest to spot the fireworks they put up with a punishing ground attack, it was the play of the No. 1-ranked team’s offensive and defensive lines that made the strongest statement on Friday.
“They physically dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball,” remarked New Westminster Hyacks head coach Farhan Lalji after his No. 3-ranked team was absorbed a 49-14 loss in a non-conference game at Mercer Stadium in the Royal City.
Port Coquitlam’s Ravens held the Hyacks (3-1, 0-0) without a first down in the opening quarter and built a 28-0 lead before the home team was able to begin a rally that pulled them to within 34-14 at halftime.
Fox’s bevy of outstanding running backs played as physically tough as its line, led by old-school tough senior Joe Patko who carried 19 times for 156 yards, four touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions.
Fellow senior running mate Tibi Banica made it a dual 100-yard night along the Mercer turf, carrying 12 times for 123 yards, a pair of scores and a two-point convert.
“I think we just wore them down tonight,” said Fox offensive coordinator Martin McDonnell. “But we knew we were going to be in for a good game tonight. It’s been a situation for us where we haven’t really got a lot of competition for the past few weeks so we knew it was going to be a very good game.”
For a Fox perspective it most certainly was.
The Ravens defence, led by the six tackles of Cole Green, five more Patko and three apiece from Keiko King, Aaron Erickson and A.J. Hanson, kept the Hyacks’ ground game from ever finding a rhythm.
And on offence, they were a pound machine, with Patko and Banica each using their instincts to find big chunks of yardage behind a strong-driving line.
Patko opened the scoring just 2:30 into the game, capping Fox’s first drive (three plays, 63 yards, 52 seconds) with a nine-yard scoring run set up by his own 31-yard run on the team’s first play from scrimmage.
Banica scored on a 15-yard run on the team’s second series, a 10-play, 87-yard drive, taking a cue from Patko by managing a 40-yard run of his own to the Hyacks 19 to set up the score and eventual 14-0 lead with 2:11 left in the opening quarter.
Banica from six yards out, and Patko from five yards out on a drive facilitated by a Prashant Chaube interception, put the Ravens up 28-0 5:15 from the half.
The Hyacks found some sustained offensive success just before the break by going to the air.
Quarterback Torsten Jaccard found receivers Abdul Ali, Daniel English and Andre Stroud on a 63-yard scoring drive that was capped by fullback Blain Cawkell’s 18-yard run to the end zone, narrowing the gap to 28-7.
However on first-and-10 from its own 48-yard line, Ravens’ pivot Chaube found Keiko King on a 52-yard catch and run for the score.
Jaccard’s scoring strike on second-and-two with just seconds remaining in the first half, drew New West to within two scores at 34-14.
The momentum, however, did not build for New West in the second half.
Patko scored from a yard out and then ran in the two-point convert for a 42-14 lead, then added another fourth-quarter major to round out the scoring.
“They were the better team and derserve to be ranked No. 1,” continued Lalji. “That said, I do believe we have a team that can compete with them. But we have a long ways to go to get there.”
Chaube was five-of-six in the passing department for 140 yards, including his big strike to King. Ravens’ basketball standout Hanson caught two passes for 51 yards.

Thanks for the nice comments coach. I have to correct you however. (Hey I didn't know you ever made mistakes). We won our Provincial championship NOT last year but in '06. Our JV's have been back to back champs ('06 and 07). Last year we were semi-finalists with a young team. The majority of our guys are back and so far so good...we're 5-0 after winning last night 48-0. A lot of credit for our relatively recent success has to do with my introduction to Coach Freeb and his ideas/philosophies. We have been going to team camps in WA and OR now for the past 8 years. Very few teams from our area do this...It helps a lot. I've also incorporated(ie. stolen with permission) many ideas from Freebs EQ offense. Ther are still people that jus won't adjust to the unbalanced?? A big one of course has also been the BFS program. WE flat our are getting very strong. Before Getting our kids hooked on the BFS program we were a very average team. We are not so any longer. Our kids are strong and getting stronger. We have 10 weight training classes (5 each semester) and all our players are in weight training. Our classes follow the BFS program to a T. We hav many 1200 pound club members for the 4 lift total and this year a gr. 11 Lineman made the 1500 lb club (first one ever) His totals are very impressive. He's 6'3 265. Not our biggest kid but definately our strongest. His bench is 335. His Power Clean 275, Hex 540. P. Squat 405 for a 1555 total Awesome. Coach remember when you came to do a clinic we had no one who could bench 300. We've got 6 kids on this years team benching 300+ BFS works...It's that simple
