To laugh often and love much,
To win the respect of intelligent people,
To earn the approbation of honest critics,
And endure the betrayal of false friends,
To appreciate beauty,

Whether by a healthy child,
A redeemed social condition,
Or a garden patch . . .
To have lived your life with enthusiasm
And to have sung with exaltation,
