COMMITMENT

Commitment Cards have become perhaps our most effective motivational tool because it encourages kids to be accountable to each other. Every week players must write down one practice goal, one conditioning goal & one game goal on a white index card. During Thursday night's team meeting, players stand up & not only state their goals but commit them to a teammate or coach who is then responsible for holding that player accountable. Players can't commit to the same teammate twice, which eliminates cliques & forces players to interact with more than just a few teammates. These goals have to be measurable & realistic.
