Went to the Ranger game last night - They Won! That pushes their record to 8-2 for the season, undefeated in conference play . . . that makes the 4th title in the history of the school, I think.
They get a first round bye for the playoffs in Oregon while a #2 from another conference plays #3 and the winner will get the Rangers.
Personally, I do not like having the bye thing. I say, let more schools into the playoffs and have a #1 play a #4 for this first week and move on from there. That's just me talking.
Went and saw grandson Kade play some soccer today - three games (out of four). That's a bit much if you ask me. But soccer people can be a bit off center at times.
BTW - the weather out here continues to be springlike - partly cloudy 65 degrees . . . some rain tomorrow.
Be 11!

Congrats to the Rangers! What a beautiful part of the world and nice facility the Estacada Rangers enjoy. Are the guys still BFSing it Coach? Is it hard for you to be a "fan" after so many years coaching? It is great that they are still winning! Go Rangers!
It's great to play "Inside the Hedges." Althought last night we played at PGE Park in Portland as part of a double header.
They lift some . . . but not BFS. It really caught up to them in the playoffs last year with lots of guys out with those minor injuries you don't get with BFS.
For those of you who are not BFS schools, one thing that the program does is to cut your injuries by more than half.
Yes, being a 'fan' is not what I like doing. Would rather be coaching on Friday nights, for sure.
I don't understand how a group could get away from a program that obviously worked. The facility you guys built was specifically designed with the BFS program in mind. Is it a lack of knowledge of the benefits, a desire to seperate themselves from what "was" or what? What kind of program do the kids follow now?
At first, the program was played down by the athletic director and the fact that no coach wanted to do the work of keeping the room open, especially before school.
Then the next coach knew nothing about weight training and he continued nothing from the past. Passed up on all traditions. Got himself in trouble with the parents on that one.
The new coaches do not know what they are doing in the weightroon that well. Plus only one of them lives in town, and he can't be there before school, so they just let it slide.
They really have no program to 'follow' and it will catch up to them.
Coach are you saying that there have been 2 different coaches since you moved on? does the new guy teach at the school? Our biggest "support feature" so to speak is that we have the BFs program as a class...actually 10 classes (5 each semester) and get most of the players liftng both semesters since we offer a gr. 9,10,11 and 12 level course. Do they not have wt. training as an elective? What is being done withthe wrestling/wt. room you folks built?
Yes, here have been 2 coaches. The first one did nt win a league game in two years and finished out like 0-15.
Second guy is a young guy, teaches at school, and they do some lifting in the weightroom. It's not BFS.
It's a kind of do what you want thing. Very unstructred.
The room is not used as it would be. That's sad.
